“World Class Wines with a Colorado Soul”

In 2016, Vinnie Fera was founded with the mission of crafting world-class wine in our home of Boulder, Colorado. While the Front Range of Colorado isn’t the most obvious place for a winery, we have lived here for many years and couldn’t imagine leaving our beloved community! Therefore, as passionate winemakers, we have found creative way to craft excellent wines while keeping our roots right here in Boulder.

Our first step is to source premium quality fruit from highly reputable vineyards in California, Oregon, and of course, the Western Slope of Colorado. When harvest time arrives, our grapes are picked in the early morning before sunrise. The cold air naturally chills the grapes and keeps them fresh while they are transported directly to our winemaking facility in Boulder. Once we have them in house, we steward them through the entire process from grape to glass into fantastic wines.

Vinnie Fera’s approach to winemaking is built on classic principles that strive to achieve natural balance and structure. This allows the wines to showcase their varietal characteristics as well as tell the story of the seasons of vineyards in which they originated. We believe our wines are best enjoyed with food, both as a means to compliment an exquisite meal and to elevate the shared experience with good friends and family.

Who We Are

Kyle Mitchell, Winemaker

Kyle Mitchell is a CSU graduate with a degree in horticulture science. While in college he worked at a restaurant in Fort Collins that had a phenomenal wine list and was introduced to the world of wine; there he developed a love for wine and winemaking. Kyle proceeded to work for a nearly a decade with the who’s who of winemakers in California.

Influenced by wines from all around the globe and one to believe the best vineyards are those yet to be planted, his job at Vinnie Fera is to find prized fruit and craft clean wines. Kyle thinks “the goal of a winemaker is to make the last sip taste better than the first” and absolutely loves to find value in modestly priced wines.

The winery founder and wine taster is Tim Moley.  Tim is a botanist by training and has worked variously in the spices, tea and chocolate industries over the years.  While guiding the taste of tea-blends at a tea company in California, Tim embarked upon an education in wine in Sonoma county. That education aside from some classroom time, included an active effort at winery and vineyard tours, a journey that included travels and tours in Chile, Piemonte, Burgundy, Bordeaux and Champagne.
